Textile Madagascar: ACTUAL TEXTILES Strengthens Workplace Safety with ISO 45001:2018 Training

In the highly competitive textile industry in Madagascar, ensuring a safe work environment is a major challenge. As a key player in Madagascar’s textile sector, ACTUAL TEXTILES is taking a new step in its commitment to occupational health and safety by undergoing in-depth training on the ISO 45001:2018 standard.

A Strategic Training for a Safer Textile Industry in Madagascar

From February 10 to 12, 2025, ACTUAL TEXTILES teams participated in a training session designed to enhance workplace risk prevention. The ISO 45001:2018 standard, a global benchmark for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), provides a structured framework to reduce workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

The goal? To implement a high-performance management system that takes a proactive approach to risk prevention. Participants gained deeper insights into the responsibilities of different stakeholders—including management, department heads, HSE (Hygiene, Safety, and Environment) committees, and employees—aiming to foster a sustainable safety culture.

On-Site Safety: Identifying and Managing Workplace Risks

On February 18, 2025, a worksite evaluation visit was conducted to identify industry-specific workplace risks in the textile sector in Madagascar. During this audit, teams collaborated with safety experts to assess hazards related to material handling, industrial machinery, and exposure to chemical substances.

As a result of this analysis, several corrective measures were implemented:
✅ Optimization of safety protocols
✅ Increased employee awareness and training
✅ Improved emergency procedures
✅ Active employee participation in risk prevention

Compliance and Monitoring: A Commitment to Excellence

ACTUAL TEXTILES also conducted a documentary review of its internal procedures to ensure compliance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard. This rigorous process is essential for maintaining the effectiveness of the adopted measures and preparing for potential international certification.

The company has established a regular audit system to track progress and integrate continuous improvements. The objective is clear: to position Madagascar’s textile industry as a model of workplace safety and working conditions.

Strong Commitment from Management

ACTUAL TEXTILES’ General Directors, Mrs. Mezbine HIRIDJEE and Mr. Ilann HIRIDJEE, reaffirmed their commitment to employee well-being:

💬 “Workplace safety is our top priority. With the ISO 45001:2018 standard, we are investing in a secure environment that not only protects our employees but also strengthens our company’s competitiveness. A strong textile sector in Madagascar requires exemplary working conditions.”

Building a Sustainable Future for Madagascar’s Textile Industry

By adopting the ISO 45001:2018 standard, ACTUAL TEXTILES is making a significant contribution to the advancement of Madagascar’s textile industry. Through risk prevention, continuous training, and innovation, the company reinforces its position as a key player in the sustainable development and modernization of Madagascar’s textile sector.

💡 ACTUAL TEXTILES demonstrates that safety, performance, and sustainability go hand in hand, helping Madagascar’s textile industry shine on the international stage.
