Health & Awareness: Textile Madagascar Marks World Health Day 2025 at ACTUAL TEXTILESAntananarivo – April 11, 2025

As part of the annual World Health Day, celebrated every April 7th, ACTUAL TEXTILES, a key player in the Textile Madagascar sector, organized a special health awareness day on April 11, 2025. The event took place at its Ankadikely site and brought together a wide range of employees, supervisors, and partners around a shared objective: promoting a culture of health and well-being within the company and beyond, throughout Malagasy society.

The 2025 World Health Day carried the global theme “Good health at birth for a hopeful future,” emphasizing the importance of maternal and neonatal health. This message strongly resonates at ACTUAL TEXTILES, where improving the well-being of women—especially pregnant and breastfeeding mothers—is a key priority. Health professionals, led by Dr. Rotsy Rasoavelonoro from OSTIE, facilitated awareness workshops to inform and advise employees on best practices during pregnancy and breastfeeding. These discussions highlighted crucial steps for ensuring the health of both mothers and their newborns—critical moments in any woman’s life.

Given the recent spike in colds and fevers in Antananarivo during this time of year, ACTUAL TEXTILES also addressed the prevention of viral illnesses. Presentations emphasized simple, practical steps employees can take to help limit the spread of infections and protect their own health as well as that of their colleagues. A key part of the event was also dedicated to raising awareness about hypertension, a silent but increasingly common condition with serious health risks if left untreated. Thanks to Dr. Rasoavelonoro’s insights, participants gained a better understanding of this condition and how to prevent it.

“As a responsible company in the Textile Madagascar sector, we have a significant duty towards our employees. Their health is a top priority, and we are committed not only to providing a safe working environment but also to supporting their daily well-being—especially in an increasingly complex health context,” emphasized Mrs. Mezbine HIRIDJEE and Mr. Ilann HIRIDJEE, representing the general management of ACTUAL TEXTILES.

This awareness day was held as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment. It once again demonstrated that workplace health goes beyond occupational risk prevention and involves a comprehensive vision of employee well-being, where all aspects of life are taken into account. We believe that promoting health and raising awareness about health risks are essential to sustainable and human-centered development—toward a more united, conscious, and resilient Textile Madagascar.

In conclusion, this event reaffirmed our belief that companies—especially in the textile sector—can play a vital role in driving social transformation by actively contributing to public health, disease prevention, and improving quality of life for their employees. We remain committed to making the health and well-being of our teams a top priority, guided by a spirit of solidarity and sustainability.
